Employee Profile - Bill Oliver

I originally joined PROjEN in 1989 after finishing my apprenticeship with Mather & Platt in Manchester & four years servicing / trouble shooting fire protection systems.

Whilst at PROjEN I worked on various difference assignments for clients such as BNFL, Cadburys, MEL, Henkel, Alcan & Harcross Chemicals.

In 1998 I decided to broaden my experience and moved to Aston Dane where I learnt 3D Design, life cycle analysis & criticality systems using Offset as a photogrammetry service at ICI Chlor Chemicals in Runcorn.

I rejoined PROjEN in 2006 as a Senior piping Designer where I use the latest software including autoplant & autocad. I have provided design work for GlaxoSmithKline. & BakeMark.

I like working for PROjEN. Management let you get on with the job and they are flexible (within reason) over working hours – which suits me. I enjoy working with the team they have a good sense of humour and the office banter is good.

Employee Profile - Sheena Tudor

Prior to working at PROjEN I had worked for a number of years in some of the ‘old school’ Engineering Drawing Offices throughout the North West of England.

Starting as a Tracer working on a drawing board, I was introduced to CAD technology during its early years and eventually worked my way into Drawing Office Team Supervision.

I joined PROjEN in 1995 prior to the management buyout, initially to lead a team of CAD technicians on a major project.  Since then, I have seen the company go through many different periods of change, and have enjoyed playing an active role in establishing the company to where it is today.

My main roles are Drawing Office Co-ordinator / CAD operator. I organise drawings that pass through the CAD section, making sure that projects are completed in terms of QA, time & cost.  In particular I am involved in the development of DO procedures, standards & symbols and continually making sure that we have the most up-to-date information. My role also means that I am responsible for the utilisation & maintenance of DO equipment.

PROjEN’s flat structure means that you can get involved in a cross section of activities.  In addition to my role within the CAD Department I am also part of the IT Team, where I am involved with implementing, developing & supporting company systems & telecommunications.

I find my role at PROjEN interesting, particularly as we are always involved with company improvement initiatives.  It’s nice to know that the part you play is integral and feeds into the company’s overall success.

The informal atmosphere & excellent team environment are a big ‘plus’ in working for PROjEN.  This coupled with outside events where you can join fellow workmates and family on country walks, meals and specials events makes PROjEN a great place to work.
