Background

Having worked in the construction industry since leaving school at 16 years old I have gradually worked my way up through the tiers from apprentice in the early years to Senior Quantity Surveyor at the present time, gaining the necessary qualifications at each level along the way.

In recent years I have been fortunate to have been a member of various commercial teams within highly experienced and established companies, working on many high profile, multi million pound projects from national sports stadiums, prime contracts for the MoD to flag ship projects within the pharmaceutical industry.

I was first introduced to PROjEN nearly five years ago through the PQS practice that employed me at the time and having recently spent a year working for a blue chip, multi national construction contractor, I have now returned to Projen as a staff member accepting the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor within the small but experienced commercial team.

Role at PROjEN

Initially tasked with assessing and then implementing continuous improvements with the project estimating and reporting tools with the intention of integrating both tools into the well established business management system my role has rapidly progressed to providing commercial support for all projects within the business.

With the wide range of services PROjEN can offer and the diversity of projects that PROjEN are continuously tasked with delivering for its Clients allows for the commercial team and myself to be constantly involved with all aspects of commercial support from feasibility studies, procurement strategy, contract formation and administration right through to finalising main and subcontract accounts on projects from £5k to over £10.5million.

The approach of everybody within PROjEN is to promote a flexible and friendly working environment that allows for a sense of individual responsibility whilst at the same time not compromising the professional integrity of either individuals or the business and everybody is approachable on any given day right up to the Chairman.
