Background

Prior to joining PROjEN, I worked for Ineos Chlor (Formerly ICI Chlor Chemicals) in Runcorn, where my most recent position was that of Engineering Materials Purchasing Manager. I had been with my previous employers for 26 years gaining a broad base of experience (16 in Purchasing) working in an Engineering and Chemical Industry. Starting out in 1978 as an apprentice, I spent 10 years "hands on" in Engineering, then made a move into a commercial world of ICI Purchasing and Supply, gaining a wealth of experience.”

My role at PROjEN

Within PROjEN I have overall responsibility for procurement of goods and services used directly by the business and for their varied client base.

The role itself involves managing vendors ensuring that the procurement and ongoing delivery of Engineering and specified goods/ services are carried out in line with our strategic sourcing and procurement policies. As part of this process there is a need to negotiate with suppliers and carry out contract/ post contract reviews. Working with a number of contract styles there is also a need to prepare and issue procurement documentation, which includes Invitations to Tender, Vendor Accreditation Checks, Vendor Appraisals and the Evaluation of Tender Responses, Creation of Tender Review Reports which include Supplier Recommendations from a Commercial Perspective.
